Nice to e-meet you! That's internet for Hello. And that's also about as far as I got in planning what to say in this thing...but as a lover of spontaneity and the inability to edit my own words because that would mean actually having an awareness as to the nothingingness that I am about to ramble on about for far too long...I'm just going to go ahead and keep typing. Apparently...

I Need a Touch Up

Pretty much anytime of any day is crazy in the emergency room, but Friday night was particularly bad. I guess it probably had to do with the rainstorm or maybe it was a full moon or something but the trauma’s were coming in non-stop. As morbid as it makes me sound, as a student it’s all really exciting and I love to pop into the trauma room and get up close and center into all the action. That is of course until people don’t realize that I’m still a student and start asking me to do things.

Because the trauma room was so full, we had no choice but to put some of the people who probably should have been in there out in the normal emergency room where the nurses like me get to take care of them!  I got a patient who was just in a bad high speed car accident and had several injuries. Let’s just say that this guy was not a saint and was fairly well known to police. At the accident, he ditched the scene and managed to run about a kilometer from the accident and into a bush. Then, when he heard the police dogs coming he actually climbed up a tree, where he stayed until he was eventually taken in. And this all happened after his car was T-boned about 10inches into the driver side of the car, he was projected through the window of his car, covered in glass shards, very possibly had broken bones, and had gashes so bad that I could see his bones. It made for some good conversation to say the least.

Considering all that had happened, he was actually fairly content. When I was causing him anguishing pain by cleaning up his bloody wounds, he actually said it wasn’t nearly as bad as the times he was shot. Yes he was shot, and yes on more than one occasion. But he said that he deserved everything that happened/was going to happen.

While fixing him up, I took a picture of his thrashed arm/ribs and showed it to him, obviously suggesting this be his new profile picture.

As he had to have policemen at his side at all times, I got talking to them and being about 4 in the morning what better to talk about than video games. So we were comparing all the games we used to play as kids etc. when my patient jumps in and says that the best game ever is Grand Theft Auto. Obviously.

At least he had a sense of humor about it all.
After I got off nightshift at 730am, I managed to sleep for 2 hours before having to wake up and go to Marlee’s hair show. As I got there she was just finishing Danielle’s hair which looked absolutely ridiculously amazing! She made this gigantic sculpture out of her head and it looked crazy good.

Because I was Aphrodite, she styled mine a lot more delicately, and made it very soft and pretty. When she was finished, I went over to the makeup girls and got pampered some more. It was so much fun! There were models all over the place and everyone was getting all done up. Some of the costumes were so cool! I wish I was more artsy like that. There was one girl who was completely naked in the middle of the room getting full body painted. It was crazy! I could never be that brave!

The actual show itself was super fun, we got to walk a little runway in front of all the guests and the judges while Marlee presented us and there was cake and appy’s to celebrate afterwards. I’m so glad I got to be a part of it!

Because this was her class’s final day of school, they obviously wanted to celebrate so everyone went out after and it was a wonderful night! Aside from sleeping only 2 hours out of the last 40.

..did I really just go from talking about bloody bone-exposing wounds to hair and makeup shows?  I should work on my transitions.

I think they won't mind you talking about exposed wounds and bones at all if you would always end it with your gorgeous pics Kise! Glad you still had fun after an emergency scene at work.

The full moon does strange things to people.

After work on "full moon" Friday night my car wouldn't start, I had stupidly left my lights on and ran the battery out ):

I think the bloody, bone exposed wounds section transitioned very nicely and naturally into the hair show portion. You don't have to work on anything.
