Nice to e-meet you! That's internet for Hello. And that's also about as far as I got in planning what to say in this thing...but as a lover of spontaneity and the inability to edit my own words because that would mean actually having an awareness as to the nothingingness that I am about to ramble on about for far too long...I'm just going to go ahead and keep typing. Apparently...

Catch Me!

I'm back from the vacation I was taking in my head and have returned to blog. Your welcome.

On Wednesday I went with Alicia and Carolina to the Vancouver Fashion Week Opening Party which Carolina kindly invited us to and got us tickets! She is a huge fashionista and has a really popular fashion blog all about the events that went on. This was great aside from the fact that trying to choose an outfit for a fashion party with designers and models etc is the most stressful thing ever for a girl who doesn't wear huge name brand clothes. But in the end there was no way I could compete anyways because it was at a gay bar and wow. Not only were the guys dressed better than me but my gosh they had moves!

I've been trying to work a little bit more often (for money rather than my mandatory full time unpaid nursing job/school). I always have stories when I work in the Emergency Room but I always have to remind myself that perhaps I am a little more desensitized to stuff and have to be careful of what I tell other people. But that aside...to give you a taste of an average day for me, I had a patient who was in her 20's and she came to the ER totally cracked out on who knows what but she was pretty out of it. We had to put a catheter (yes i am going there) in and guess who was lucky enough to get that job! So it took 2 nurses to hold her legs open, and while she screamed F YOU and other obscenties at me, as well as trying to kick me, I had to do whatever I could to insert it.

And another patient who stated that he strongly dispised his landlord and wanted to eliminate him from the planet.

Meanwhile, a friend of mine on the baby unit texted me to say that she was currently feeding a premature baby with down syndrome who was the cutest thing ever, falling asleep in her arms.

I think I chose the wrong unit.

On Sunday night, I went to the Passion Pit concert which was so much fun! And to be honest, a lot better than I was expecting! The opening band was brutal, but Passion Pit made up for it! I absolutely love going to concerts, especially ones that not so many people have heard of so the venues are smaller and the tickets are cheap, etc. The crowd was a good mix of people but I was pretty much in Hipster Heaven, I could hardly see through the sea of plaid. It has got me even more excited to see FLORENCE and the machine this week!!!!

PS For the first time this year, I was brave enough to step outside WITHOUT TIGHTS!!!! I felt so revealing! I'm officially ready for summer!!

You went to a fashion week party with gays? I'm in awe. You are so brave. I would have tried on 20 outfits, given up and blogged about my failed attempt at being fashionable.

    Welcome back! :D

Ouch i'm sorry about that rude cracked out patient. I can't believe she screamed stuff like that at you. I know for sure now i can't be a nurse because i cant be silent being treated like that. Oh well...what you do is very noble though :)

Is there any picture from the opening party? I bet you look gorgeous. Dressing for fashion related events are always confusing. I dont have that many name brand stuff in my closet as well.

Well that puts moaning about my job into a harsh context! *hangs head in shame*

    Enjoy Florence, I'm jealous.
