Nice to e-meet you! That's internet for Hello. And that's also about as far as I got in planning what to say in this thing...but as a lover of spontaneity and the inability to edit my own words because that would mean actually having an awareness as to the nothingingness that I am about to ramble on about for far too long...I'm just going to go ahead and keep typing. Apparently...

This is how we do CPR

Every year it is a requirement of my nursing school that we take a CPR class which is probably good considering there are code blues at the hospital quite frequently. However, it does get a bit repetitive learning the exact same thing over and over. However, this time there seemed to be something new...

The first thing that we were told to do was put a stack of picture-cards in the correct order of the steps one would take in performing CPR. All was going well and we were speeding through the sequence, until we saw this one...

So many things came to mind...
Was this the new way of doing CPR? Have I been doing it wrong all this time? I really don't remember this being a step in the process...
Does the blowjob come before, or after compressions?

Good Times Are Calling

This past weekend was a long weekend thanks to Labor Day Monday, and I of course planned on doing anything BUT labor on this lovely day off! Actually, I decided to spend the whole weekend away. And even though most of my class spent their 2 weeks in much more tropical places, I went to Vancouver Island where I was just happy to get away for at least a few days.

We went to Parksville which is a little vacation town on the island. We got quite lucky and ended up having really nice weather the whole time which is just what I needed, sun and beach!

From the ferry we checked into our resort and didn't waste any time before heading to the shops. Parksville is apparently known for their little shopping village that features real live goats on top of the market. I didn't believe it myself until I saw them...I'm not sure how cleanly it is to have goats living on top of a restaurant, but no one seemed to mind.

It made for quite the unique shopping experience.

And along with the goats where tons of statues (obviously this place was built for tourists). Below is by far my favorite.

I have an unnatural obsession with Buddha. This pretty much made my day. And yes, of course I rubbed his belly! The other statue that I got conned (not really but for the sake of saving me embarrassment, I won't admit to it being my idea...) into also posing on top of a giant rooster. It amused plenty.

After spending the day in the shops, we went back to the resort and went for an evening stroll along the outstretched beach.

The next morning we decided to be adventurous and go Caving (or is it Spelunking?). Either way, I literally dropped down into a tiny pitch black cavern hundreds of meters below the surface! I have never done anything like that before and I'm sooo glad that I did! It was so much fun! Luckily I am not very claustrophobic (we actually lost one person before we even entered the cave, just looking at the tiny hole in the rock we all had to squish through). I had no idea the types of neat formations that come out of a cave. Actually I really should, I took a geology class (forgive me but I have to say it: geology, rocks! hehehe) in high-school but I guess it never cemented in my mind.

Cave wolf

Cave Buddha. I didn't get to rub this one's belly :(

Just a cave.

But yes, it was a really great adventure and I cant wait to go again! I will make sure to bring proper 'caving' clothes next time as all I had packed with me for the weekend were dresses, tights and cardigans. I know, I know, I'll never learn, don't even bother trying. I had to borrow the only option of my brother's oversized, ripped, pink floyd hoodie. I suppose when I think of cave people, they aren't exactly the most best dressed of people.

The weekends over, and starting tomorrow I begin my last semester of nursing school! Eeep!
